Freedom's Light Charity Program

gbThe Freedom's Light Charity Program provides continued support to military veterans, their families, and individuals impacted by terrorism worldwide.  We do this through volunteering at events and donating to charity partners.
Also, as part of the Freedom's Light Charity Program, Pat Curran (ABS Founder) invites all to join him in his yearly "40-Day Hero's Journey Challenge" as he prepares for various endurance races (triathlon and running).  Individuals set their own challenging goal to achieve as part of the program and experience a renewed sense of purpose, direction, and meaning.
So, what about you?  Are you looking to rekindle that fire from within?  Do you have a challenging goal that seems out of reach?   If so, take our "Hero's Journey Challenge!"  Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Notes provide focus, motivation, and structure. Also, individuals learn to leverage their "hero traits" essential for building character.  Those who benefit from participating in the challenge are simply asked to donate or give time to any of the charities below.

Volunteering & Outreach

Fordham University's "Edge4Vets" Program

The "Edge4Vets Program" helps returning veterans learn how their military service gives them a distinct advantage in today's marketplace. This 4-part workshop series hosted by Tom Murphy and the Fordham University Resiliency Institute offers veterans insights about their strengths and how it can be leveraged as they transition from military service.  The result is having each veteran build a platform for getting the most out of their education and prepare them for a job, career, and life as a community leader.  For more information about the program or possibly running something similar in your organization, email This email address is being protected from spambots. Travis Manion Foundation - Character Does Matter Program

The Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) trains and supports veterans, families of the fallen, and first responders to bring their strengths-based character program to students.  The curriculum is modifiable to fit the needs of the students, schools, and TMF Ambassadors.  Presentations are given to schools assemblies, sports teams, or youth groups. Essential elements of good character are shared, using stories from the veteran's own military service and about fallen heroes like LT Travis Manion. If you are interested in hosting an event or would like to know more about how to be an TMF Ambassador, email This email address is being protected from spambots. SUNY Rockland - Personal Finance for Veterans

SUNY Rockland hosts their Personal Finance for Veterans Program for transitioning military members currently enrolled in school.  ABS acts as the lead sponsor and facilitator of the program in order to help young veterans avoid the common financial pitfalls when reintegrating back into the civilian job sector.  Programs are offered in 2-hour and multiple session formats.  One-on-one coaching is also available.  For those who are interested, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots.
